With over 20 years in the television industry, I’ve been a driving force in shaping the future of television graphics, innovation, and team leadership. From designing groundbreaking graphics to pioneering transformative workflows, I’ve consistently pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in broadcasting. My journey spans major networks like ABC, CNN, CBS, ESPN, and NBC, where I’ve not only crafted visually stunning graphics but also redefined how they integrate into live sports and television production.

How it Started
After starting my career at ESPN as a graphics operator for SportsCenter, College Football Today, and ESPN News, I transitioned into a dynamic freelance career, designing and operating on-air graphics for major networks including CNN, ABC, NBC, MTV, VH1, Fox Sports, CBS, and NBA TV.
My work spanned live sports, news, and entertainment, as well as post-production, contributing to high-profile events like the X Games, Giro d’Italia, MTV-TRL Live, and VH1 Behind the Music. Skilled in platforms like Chyron Infinit, Chyron Duet, VizRT, and Pinnacle Deko, I adapted seamlessly to diverse production environments, helping shape broadcast visuals across multiple industries.

CSTV / CBS College Sports
In 2003, I joined CSTV as the sole on-air graphics designer, building the network’s entire on-air graphics infrastructure from the ground up. With no existing on-air designer, I took on multiple roles—designer, lead operator, and workflow architect—creating both a complete studio graphics disk and a separate remote disk. I developed cost-effective, automated workflows that allowed multiple workstations to seamlessly share data, built in-house scoring systems, and established a networked graphics solution that streamlined pre-production and live operations.
I also led the implementation of all graphics packages, single-handedly supporting both studio and remote productions while working with outside vendors to enhance efficiency and elevate the network’s on-air look. Additionally, I worked closely with marketing to integrate brand cohesion across print, studio, and game graphics, securing sponsorship integrations for major brands like AT&T, Budweiser, Coca-Cola, and Verizon.
My efforts not only optimized production but also saved the network millions, with each redesign averaging $125,000 in cost reductions. This work ultimately helped position CSTV for its acquisition by CBS, where it evolved into CBS College Sports.

CBS Sports Network
As CBS College Sports rebranded into CBS Sports Network to expand beyond college athletics, I played a key role in integrating our graphics workflows under the CBS umbrella while building a fully in-house graphics department. I developed a persistent, automated L-Frame system that seamlessly combined manual and automated data, cycling throughout broadcasts without additional graphic interaction—this model has been replicated multiple times and remains in use today. I also led the overhaul of the graphics package used for post-production and implemented a streamlined data entry system, saving time and resources in remote event production.
While I remained heavily involved in designing—leading from within rather than above—the real value came from sharing my experience and workflows with the larger team. This allowed me to continue designing when needed while also directing the overall product and workflow.
Additionally, I created a talent development pipeline that has trained entry-level employees with no prior graphics experience, turning them into key contributors within our department—today, nearly a third of the 20-person design team has come through this program. These innovations not only minimized staffing costs but also enhanced production flexibility, ultimately saving CBS Sports over $300K annually while ensuring long-term sustainability of our workflows.

CBS Sports and Paramount+
Starting with Super Bowl 50, I led CBS Sports’ full-scale rebrand, aligning its graphics platform with CBS Sports Network to reduce reliance on costly vendors. This transformation streamlined operations across all properties, delivering a massive ROI and revolutionizing graphics production. As Director of Graphics, I built an elite in-house team, cutting $150K in vendor costs over three years, while a talent pipeline I created has saved $48K per designer annually.
I’ve overseen four major $1M+ brand redesigns and implemented automation systems like the persistent L-Frame, an offline graphics ordering system, and workstations that increased capacity by 32%, saving CBS over $290K. Additionally, my data parsing innovations cut $80K in staffing costs annually. Most recently, I launched the Golazo Network on Paramount Plus, solidifying CBS as a global soccer hub. I also played a key role in our partnership with Nickelodeon, bringing some of our biggest games—including the Super Bowl—to a new audience, creating an innovative and family-friendly viewing experience that expanded CBS Sports’ reach.
Before my departure, I had begun spearheading a five-year overhaul to streamline workflows, slash costs, and future-proof CBS and Paramount’s graphics operations. While I may no longer be in my role, the foundation I built remains, ensuring long-term efficiency, creativity, and innovation across the network.

Leaving a Roadmap for Success
Before my departure, I had set the stage for my most ambitious initiative yet—a complete five-year overhaul of CBS Sports’ graphics department. This multi-phase transformation was already gaining momentum, with early results proving its value: streamlined workflows, massive cost savings, and an infrastructure designed to future-proof CBS Sports and Paramount’s graphics operations. My vision extended beyond incremental improvements—I aimed to redefine how CBS and Paramount approached graphics, ensuring sustainability, efficiency, and creative excellence on an unprecedented scale.
Working closely with operations and engineering, I was driving alignment across all divisions, with full integration targeted for Q2 2026. Though I am no longer in my role, the foundation I built remains in place, and the impact of my leadership will continue to shape the network’s graphics strategy for years to come.
During my time with CBS, I earned 10 Sports Emmy nominations and 3 wins, a testament to the dedication and innovation I brought to every project. My legacy is not just in the systems and processes I developed but in a robust, resilient department ready to meet any challenge. The personal growth I experienced has greatly prepared me for my next adventure, but most importantly, I am incredibly proud of the team I built and the bonds we formed. I gave purpose to many talented individuals looking for a home and a mission, and I am deeply appreciative of all they have given back to our team.
